An introduction. Richard Parker is the Founder, President and Creative Director of Creative Direction, Inc., a marketing communications practice dedicated to helping businesses grow. Originally incorporated in 1993 as a creative marketing consulting service, Creative Direction now provides innovative marketing communications solutions designed to help growing companies maximize their shareholder value. As the Creative Director, Parker works directly with each client in developing creative programs that help drive sales. Creative Direction is a family company and includes an expert support team comprised of Richard's wife, Helen Parker, brother David Parker, and sister-in-law, Julie Parker.

The beginning. Mr. Parker started in the advertising business working at Advertising Illustration, a major advertising art studio in Detroit, Michigan, that serviced automotive marketing clients. Perfecting his Art Direction and the Copywriter skills along the way, he became a creative leader, innovator and partner at many notable advertising agencies and marketing firms that include:

Marketing Communications. Although well-known in the marketing communications industry for his creative skills and management abilities, Richard has been a pioneer in the utilization of data and technology in the marketing communications business and continues to break new ground in combining creative selling concepts and innovative solutions that provide a great return on investment for clients. These initial milestones include developing and managing the first Super Bowl World Wide Web site for the NFL and sponsor Oscar Mayer, the first online live concert web site, the Online Entertainment Network (OEN), featuring the first Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame live concert in New York City and many other Internet-based, direct response, and traditional programs for notable and interesting clients. Mr. Parker, in concert with Apple Computers, Linotype, Hewlett Packard, Adobe Software, and AGFA also developed the very first fully integrated network graphics system in the country while a Creative Director, Executive Vice President and Partner at the Gillespie Organization in Princeton, New Jersey - an industry competitive advantage that helped grow the marketing firm from $9 million to $86 million in annual revenue in 40 months. Parker's Synapse Technology company was one of the very first organizations founded to employ highly sophisticated database marketing technology which defined business intelligence for virtually all major corporations thereafter. Currently, Synapse (now known as Conclusive Marketing) has developed and is implementing revolutionary new transactional behavioral marketing software and programs for major financial institutions throughout the country as well as working within the agricultural industry.

Synapse Technology. Mr. Parker took a sabbatical in 1996 when he founded Synapse Database Marketing (later to be renamed "Synapse Technology" - Richard named the company), a business intelligence marketing company that pioneered marketing data technology services for Fortune 500 companies. The Synapse client list included organizations such as Novartis/Syngenta, Lilly, Kimberly Clarke, Kubota Tractor, Lucent Technology, Avaya, Microsoft, J. P. Morgan Chase, Sara Lee Hanes Underwear, etc. Under Richard's watch as President and Chairman from 1998 through 2003, Synapse was recognized as one of the top FAST500 fastest growing technology companies in North America five years in a row by Deloitte & Touche and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Richard also headed up all marketing activities for the company since its inception on January 1, 1996, built the company's web site and authored 48 installments of the bi-monthly Synapse eReport, a well respected industry newsletter on the latest developments in marketing technology. Synapse was purchased in 2003 as a planned acquisition funded by the New York venture capital firm of Morgan Keegan.

Awards, professional organizations and public service. Winning over 1,500 awards for creative excellence, Mr. Parker has also been active in professional organizations and public service that includes White River Rescue, Family Services, Domestic Violence of Greater Indianapolis, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Red Cross, United Way, TASK, The Autism Foundation, etc. His memberships and participation include being President and co-Founder of the HealthNet Foundation, Member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Orthopedic Institute, President of the Midwest Chapter of the National Agricultural Marketing Association and Member of the National Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Vice President, Member and co-Founder of the Board of Directors of the Communications and Marketing Association of New Jersey, Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Art Directors Club, President of the Art Directors Club of Indiana, Charter Member of the Netscape Developer Team, Charter Member of the Hermes Internet Project Corporate Panel, Charter Member of the Microsoft Developers Team, Member of the Board of Directors of the Inquisitive Kids Foundation, and Trustee of the Marion County Indiana Sheriff's PAL Club. Mr. Parker has served as Chairman and Judge for dozens of marketing and advertising creative awards shows such as the ADDYs, BPAA, and NAMA. He has also conducted many seminars and has been guest speaker for many trade and industry organizations speaking on a variety of topics including participating as a keynote speaker in the Worldwide Creative Consortium panel at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City three years in a row.

Brief personal background and interests: Richard attended Indiana University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with a double major in Advertising Design and Psychology. Although he spent many years living in other major metropolitan markets, Richard was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and currently lives outside of Cicero, Indiana, in the countryside. Parker's wife, Helen, is also a marketing expert in her own right and both grown sons are also entrepreneurs. Parker's personal interests include raising dogs, the outdoors and environmental issues, writing, reading, music, motorcycles, racing automobiles, collecting and shooting firearms and weaponry, family gatherings, and working on utilizing technology for creative purposes. With his brothers Bill and David as partners, Richard created BoomBrothers.net, the internet's first, free, fully-illustrated, action and adventure novel. Personal interest memberships include the National Rifle Association, the Sports Car Club of America, the Fifty Caliber Shooters Association, the Deer Creek Conservation Club, and the American Motorcycle Association.

Personal accomplishments: Building three successful entrepreneurial interests; directing the photography and filming for defense manufacturer, Boeing, in World War III scenario U.S. Army war games against Russia at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; racing as an AMA rated 250cc Expert in motocross; playing with the New York Mets and Philadelphia Flyers Dream Teams; achieving a boyhood dream of becoming a professional road racing driver at age 52 holding both SCCA Pro and International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) professional licenses while competing in the Sports Car Club of America (winning 4 races), Rotary Rockets and Formula Star Mazda North American Championship as part of the American Le Mans Series at some of the greatest road racing tracks in America; and being the only Creative Director to win a Clio award for self promotion.
