About FMX DJs

FM Express was started as a partnership in August 1996 by Brian Morris (me) and Keith Fife (longtime high school friend)in Indianapolis, Indiana. I describe my God given talent like this:  My sister plays piano and sings, my older brother plays guitar, my younger brother plays the drums, and well, I play CDs!!!  The original name was FM Express and our first official "gig" was the 30th birthday party for my OLDER sister on the back patio of our parent's home.  A good time was had by all!

We began by playing for schools and small parties.  At times, dressing along with the guests for the theme of the parties and even hauling motorcycles as props for the ambiance of the event!  Setting the bar high, early-on, for above and beyond customer service was paramount!

It was not long before larger corporate parties and wedding receptions began a steady stream of gigs.  We found satisfaction in the MANY referrals and repeat customers.  Great pride was taken in the fact that the only form of advertising we used was word of mouth.  I don't think we are allowed YET to talk about that Halloween party in Franklin!! And the Kroger Christmas Parties Rocked!!!This continued for several years.

The time on the road and after a few minivans, utility trailers and pickup trucks, Keith decided to hang up his headphones.  It also didn't help lugging around the ginormous case he built to house the mixing gear, storage areas and kitchen sink!!  It was unbelievably heavy to say the least... I was on my own....

So with new sound gear, new (to me) truck, and a little tweak on the business name, FMX DJs, I set forth, steadfast to continue on the mission we started.  I was not sure how it would go, but I was bound and determined to do the job of 2 people by myself.  Little did I know how successful it would be.  The phone continued to ring and the music played on!  Still word of mouth and repeat customers were the mainstays.

As the years progressed, I became a regular for many organizations, families and schools. Local and International organizations such as the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 86 and Auxiliary, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Clothe a Child and Community Days, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, Gamma Pi Indianapolis, Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, The Lord's Pantry at Anna's House, St. Jude Parish and School Indianapolis and most recently the Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society.  I have played at wedding receptions for siblings, parents, sons, daughters and relatives of the same families.  Most of the time I remember everyone's "First Dance" from their reception.  It is quite flattering for me that guests at receptions I have played before come to the table to say "Hi" or chat about the families I have entertained.  I think it sits well with them I remember their specific family members too. (As far as I know, there have only been a few divorces.....)

So here we are, in the now, and hopefully you are still reading this trying to decide on your DJ for your event.  I am a small company that is BIG on customer service.  I can't say that I can sit at a table and just play music.  I like to be a part of the fun that is your event.  When people leave, I want them saying, "What a party.....good times, good times!"

Drop me an email, get a quote or give me a call.  Let me know if I can help. That's what I am here for.  Thanks for your time.
